The minority question in Europe (1998)
Minority issues have been in the foreground of interest recently and remain a major preoccupation of governments and international organisations. In her introduction to this useful collection of international documents on minority rights, Florence Benoit-Rohmer presents an overview of what she perceives as steps "towards a coherent system of protection for national minorities" in Europe. Indeed, no such coherent system exists at present. This book, prepared by the International Institute for Democracy, will be of interest not only to specialists working with minorities, their rights and their future development, but also to all those wishing to learn more about this important issue.
