The competence of the supreme courts (1999)
The aim of this seminar was to determine the main prerogatives of the supreme courts, with regard to their function as protectors of the principles of a democratic pluralist society.
At the end of the meeting the participants adopted a resolution on measures to reinforce the judiciary in their countries and expressed their support for the strengthening of the Council of Europe's activiies to this end.
