Release of a publication in Italian on the Faro Convention

This book entitled Il valore del patrimonio culturale per la società e le comunità. La Convenzione del Consiglio d'Europa tra teoria e prassip (published by Linea Edizioni) presents the contents and comments on the innovative scope of the Council of Europe's Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society, as well as the strategies developed for its implementation, taking stock of the Italian context. Experiences of actors involved in the field and academic research also highlight the varied landscape in which 'heritage communities', as defined by the legal text itself, find themselves developing their action of regeneration and transmission of a heritage often put at risk by economic, social and demographic policies within Europe. The text stems from the desire to collect the contributions presented during the Conference 'Faro Convention and the Patrimonial Communities', held in Venice on 9 April 2018 as part of the awareness-raising initiatives organised by the Italian Office of the Council of Europe for the hoped-for and long-awaited ratification by our country.
