Human rights and minorities in the new European democracies: educational and cultural aspects (1998)

The problem of minorities, together with the reintroduction of democracy, takes on special significance in the profound crises of identity that central and eastern Europe is facing today. If such concepts as "multiculturalism" represent the answer to the new stage in the development of civic society, the choice for a democratic ethno-cultural policy in majority/minority relations seems to be the basis for the organisation of education.
