European Convention on Nationality and explanatory report (1998)

The object of the European Convention on Nationality is to deal both with principles of a general nature and with specific rules relating to nationality. Therefore, this text deals with all major questions relating to nationality : principles, acquisition, retention, loss, recovery, procedural rights, multiple nationality, State succession and nationality, military obligations and co-operation between States Parties.
